ChinaTel Changes Name to Better Reflect Its Global Reach

If you watched my videos with ChinaTel Group's ($CHTL.PK) Colin Tay and George Alvarez, you know that I was encouraging them to re-name the company ChinaTel 2.0.

Well, they ARE renaming the company ... and this new name -- VelaTel Global Communications -- much more accurately reflects their worldwide marketplace.

Why will TD-LTE be the best option, in most cases, for the next generation of cellular networks?

The most important issue is this: TD-LTE was developed by China Mobile to upgrade their totally screwed-up 3G system mandated to them by the People's Republic of China.

Apple (AAPL) is on the minds of China's wireless carriers, as customers can currently get iPhones through China Unicom and, now China Telecom has reached out to Apple to offer them as well.

New Google Chromebooks Another Boon to ChinaTel 4G Networks

“Chromebooks” are coming next month, and they are going to be HUGE in China where the Android OS is about 90% of the smartphone market.

After all, what's not to love about an "instant-on" (8 second) boot time … an 8-hour battery life … a 12.1 inch display … a constant connection for the owner as well as serving as a MiFi hotspot for up to 8 users … and runs on Google's Chrome operating system.

Both NBT Equities and ChinaTel Group Inc. ($CHTL.PK) are convinced that very attractively priced tablet computers with a 4G SIM card from one of the ChinaTel 4G carriers is going to be THE most popular way to live the digital life in most emerging countries.

ChinaTel partner ZTE Corp. is already making a Wi-Fi/3G tablet called the LightPro tablet for the Spanish market. The key difference to the ChinaTel network tablet? The Spanish monthly rate for data plan is $60 a month!

I had a GREAT meeting with ChinaTel Group ($CHTL.PK) today, and want to share some of the highlights with you right away.

Our No. 1 Takeaway is….

ZTE Corp. (which provides telecom equipment and network solutions on the global scale) is backing ChinaTel for eight MORE countries in Central Europe and Russia. This includes ALL capital and operational expenditures to get the networks deployed and selling subscriptions.
