Simon Khalaf has it DEAD right.  The Flurry chief executive built a case for the explosion in mobile devices and apps in a talk at the Flurry Source 13 conference in San Francisco. If your company hasn’t gotten on board the mobile bandwagon, then you’re pretty late, Khalaf argued.

Big day for Mimvi...call it their coming out party!

I talked in depth with Mimvi CEO Kasian Franks last week about their partnership with Microsoft.

As per usual on these deals, he can’t specify how much of the deal is cash vs. services but the gist of our conversation shared a lot of the details and opportunity of the deal.

First, this is the OPENING stage of the partnership. In Microsoft land that means MSFT has a business agenda...in this case:

Everything you need to know to understand why Mimvi’s app search technology is SO important to Microsoft (or even Amazon/Samsung/Google for that matter) is in this article from GigaOm on the new Apple App store powered by their $50 million acquisition of Chomp app search.

While the exact terms of the deal won’t be disclosed until 8k’s are filed on the contract, the big idea here is that Mimvi will license its search engine tech to MSFT and will develop tools for searching for mobile apps and data stored on the cloud utilizing Microsoft's Windows Azure platform.

This Seeking Alpha article does a very good job of getting to how Mimvi App Search compares to the competition…except they left out Quixey.

We will do a more in depth approach shortly…but here is a good start. The BIG issue? Relevant and contextual search for Mobile Apps IS the future…when I am going on trip to South Africa I want to find ALL the apps that will help me have the most fun in South Africa…THAT is where Mimvi search excels.
